Muslim Women Speak

  • Waterstones Gower Street London, England, WC1E United Kingdom (map)

Join Zeba Talkhani on 4th November at 6:30 for a micro-festival of interactive sessions curated, chaired and presented exclusively by Muslim women. Buy your tickets here.

From being called ‘traditionally submissive’ to ‘oppressed’, from constantly defending their right to modesty to being labelled a ‘bad Muslim’ when not conforming to mainstream media’s limited knowledge of Islam, Muslim women have heard it all. And now it’s time we hear them speak.

Curated by Zeba Talkhani, guests include Azi Ahmed, Hajera Menon of Shade7 Publishing, women's online platform She Speaks We Hear, Sisterhood Magazine,  playwright, poet and screenwriter Sabrina Mahfouz, journalist and #BAMEinPublishing co-founder Sarah Shaffi, poet and writer Shagufta K, poet and founder of The Writing Club Hala Abdullah and Generation M author Shelina Janmohamed.
